ProPublica has compiled the disclosed payments from AbbVie

Based in suburban Chicago, AbbVie was created in January 2013 when Abbott Laboratories spun off its pharmaceuticals business. In May 2012, Abbott pleaded guilty and agreed to pay $1.5 billion to settle accusations about its promotion of the drug Depakote for uses not approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

AbbVie began reporting payments for speaking, serving on a data monitoring board, research, meals, travel and educational items as of July 2012. AbbVie combines all categories into a single amount. ProPublica has compiled the disclosed payments from pharma companies to doctors and other health care providers. Search for your doctor in our interactive database.
