Dr. Lau joined LSU Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in 2014. Dr. Lau specializes in wound care and tissue engineering, which is essential to procedures such as DIEP flap breast reconstruction. He brings extensive training and proven skills to patients of the LSU Plastic Surgery practice. In addition, Dr. Lau serves as the Director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Lau earned his medical degree with Research Honors from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2006. He completed his internship at the Harvard Combined Plastic Surgery Training Program, Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2007 – and also completed a residency in Combined Plastic Surgery at the same school in 2014. Dr. Lau also completed a 2-yearresearch fellowship at the Harvard Center for Regenerative Medicine in 2011.
Dr. Lau’s teaching experience includes a number of medical school courses and graduate medical courses. He founded two successful medical education software companies. He has been published in prominent medical journals – and has also been invited to make presentations and lectures at more than a dozen regional, national and international meetings and gatherings of medical professionals.
