The voice of HSAWARENESS – A Digital Magazine driven by HS patients, for HS patients.
This past February I posted on Facebook about a special project. One of many being planned for and developed that would come to fruition in time, and for which like all of our projects is driven by HS patients, for HS patients.
Kerry of HSAWARENESS.ORG and I will be soon working together to establish the framework for production and publishing of “FLARE – A Quarterly Digital Magazine Published By Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) Patients“. In my post back in February below, I proposed a few questions to our community to gather everyone’s ideas and thoughts. Also to see who might be interested in working on this project with us well into the future.
A Call for Journalist, Writers, and Bloggers
The general concept remains the same. The need for those who are interested in writing dedicated quarterly editorials of their own, on subjects of their own choosing remains open to all and the same I started to brainstorm about. Both dedicated editorial columns can be established by interested individuals, and guest editorials for those who may only want to write for just one issue are equally valued and needed.
The voice of HSAWARENESS, our programs and projects in summary
The bulk of each issue quarterly will be a high-level digest and/or summary of the hard work of our growing organization and core teams. To feature what we aggressively publish on daily for #HSAWARENESS and #HSSUPPORT: our patient interviews in the spirit of journalism, our documentary creative film work, global affairs and news, updates on our special programs and projects both legacy and new, and of course educational features as we track what is current and evolving in science and research globally.
We are very excited to move forward with this project. I personally feel it is realistic to publish the first quarterly issue in January 2018 as a goal not to be compromised or delayed. If possible, I am thinking that Kerry and I may be able to produce a special pre-release edition that could come out before then in 2017.

An updated cover with new typographic treatment so it does not read as “Flake”. #facepalm. So the question is, as this…
